Introducing myself

Hi. Thanks for popping by! I’m Ethan. I like writing.

What do you write?

Great question! At the minute I’m trying to improve my writing with thrillers, adventure writing and horror, but when I’ve got a bit more time I’m hoping to dive, fingers first (eurgh) into fantasy.

Some of the writers I respect most are well known names. Robert Jordan comes first, quickly followed by Brandon Sanderson, Stephen King, Ray Bradbury Terry Pratchett, Jim Butcher and so on.

Got any book recommendations for me?

Boy do I. Here are a small few, although I’ll likely do blog posts on these and other suggestions at a later date.

Fantasy – Wheel of Time, Stormlight Archive, Kingkiller Chronicles.

Horror – Salem’s Lot, The Woman in Black, The Cask of Amontillado

General Fiction – Velocity, A Monster Calls, I Am Pilgrim

Non Fiction – “Shake Hands With the Devil”, “If This Is a Man” and “Winning”.

What’s with the middle initial? Think you’re up there with George R. Martin do ya?

Another excellent question. A few reasons really; it helps with SEO for this page, it gives me a very slight seperation of personal and (“)professional(“) and because D is short for Dermot, my granddad, who is a legend, so it’s nice to share that.
